If you’re heading to the Waterfront Blues Festival, make sure to bring sunscreen with you.
Portland’s stretch of warm and dry days will continue this weekend. The forecast calls for sunny skies with a high of 82 degrees Saturday and 85 on Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.
The trend continues Monday with a high of 88 before warming up even more for the Fourth of July, when the high will be around 96 degrees.
With high temps in the 90s on the Fourth of July, the city of Portland reminds residents that last year the City Council permanently banned the sale and use of all consumer fireworks, including sparklers, with no exceptions on the Fourth of July.
Residents are reminded also to not call 911 to report fireworks use in Portland. The 911 system is used only for reporting active fires and serious medical problems. Nonemergency calls in Portland, such as illegal fireworks display, can use the nonemergency line at 503-823-3333 and leave a message.
