Portland Tuesday weather: Another pleasant, sunny day; chance of rain arrives Wednesday

Good Tuesday #GoodTuesday

Portland will see another pleasant, late-summer day Tuesday.

The National Weather Service says the skies will be sunny and clear, with little to no wind. The high will reach 83 degrees Fahrenheit.

The air quality at 6 a.m. is good in most of the city, sensors indicate; a few areas in the Portland metro area are hovering at the low end of the “moderate” level. (Parts of Southern Oregon, in contrast, continue to stew in poor air conditions, “likely thanks to the smoldering Cedar Creek Fire,” NWS Portland said on social media this morning.)

Wednesday will offer a 20% chance of showers in Portland as moisture heads north along the Cascades and into the central Willamette Valley. The high will dip on hump day, topping out at about 77 degrees.

Any rain that hits the city will quickly slip away, and it’ll be back to sunny conditions on Thursday. The temperature won’t bounce back, though. The high is expected to be 72 degrees.

High temps likely will remain in the mid-70s through the end of the week.
