POLL: In the ongoing labour dispute, do you support province’s education workers (CUPE) or Ontario government?
CUPE #CUPE
After months of negotiations in the province’s labour dispute, the two sides — the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) and the Ontario government — haven’t been able to reach a new agreement.
The Canadian Union of Public Employees represents about 55,000 school support staff across Ontario, including education assistants, early childhood educators, custodians and office staff.
The two parties differ mainly on worker pay.
In the most recent events, CUPE has served the province with a strike notice by Friday, Nov. 4 if no deal is reached by then.
The provincial government is tabling legislation to prevent strike action.
