Police: 2 children among 4 people held at gunpoint during robbery in Westminster

Police in Westminster are searching for three suspects wanted for allegedly holding four people, including two children, at gunpoint while ransacking a home.

According to a release from the Westminster Police Department, the armed robbery occurred at 1:40 a.m. Tuesday morning in the 13400 block of Milan Street.

Officers arrived at the scene less than two minutes after the call was placed by a female caller stating she was being robbed. As they got there, the responding officers observed three male suspects leaving the area in a gray van.

“Officers attempted a traffic stop on the van and a pursuit ensued, but the vehicle was lost in the area of Westminster Boulevard and Bolsa Chica Road,” Westminster police confirmed. “All the male suspects were observed wearing hooded sweatshirts with the hoods over their heads.”

Inside the residence at the time of the armed robbery were four people, law enforcement officials said, including a man, a woman and two young girls aged 7 and 4.

“Officers learned the three suspects, two armed with handguns, forced entry into the residence,” police said. “They entered the adult male victim’s bedroom and asked him where he kept the money…the suspects allegedly held the adult male at gunpoint while they ransacked his bedroom and stole several valuable items.”

The value of the stolen items has not yet been determined.

Investigators with the Westminster Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit are following “all workable leads,” the department said.
