The Detroit Pistons added more veteran presence to bolster their frontcourt. On Friday, the Pistons reportedly signed center Mason Plumlee shortly after free agency got underway.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the 6-11, 30-year-old signed a three-year, $25 million deal.

Plumlee, who last played with the Denver Nuggets, averaged 7.2 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 2019-20. He played 17 minutes per game.

Shortly after, Wojnarowski reported that the Pistons had also signed center Jahlil Okafor to a two-year deal. According to Rod Beard of The Detroit News, the 6-10 24-year-old signed for the veteran minimum.

Okafor last played for the New Orleans Pelicans, where he averaged 8.1 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game in 2019-20.

While it is not certain, it could be an indicator that free agent Christian Wood may not return to the Motor City. The Pistons have five centers under contract with the drafting of Isaiah Stewart on Wednesday night and the trade acquisitions of Tony Bradley and Dewayne Dedmon.
