Piers was in bed for a week battling Covid and said the vaccine may have saved his life in his recent coloumn.
Concerned fans reached out to him on Twitter last night, as one said: “Your diary/account of getting it at the football final and the subsequent days sound horrible, Piers.
“Hope you’re feeling better and the family are OK?”
The TV star replied: “Thanks Mike, slowly coming out the other side now…”
Piers reckons he was infected at Wembley at the Euros final after which he took two tests, which were positive for Coronavirus.
Only fully-vaccinated fans or those with negative tests could attend but thousands stormed their way in.
He said: “It’s a strange, disquieting moment to know I have this killer virus. This is definitely the roughest I’ve felt.”
And he went on to suffer a range of miserable symptoms including “alarming” chest pains.
He added: “This is definitely the roughest I’ve felt from any illness in my adult life.”
He said he had told his ex-colleague Kate Garraway it was “desperately unfair” that her husband Derek never had the chance of a jab.

Kate previously said Piers channelled Winston Churchill to help her deal with her husband’s life-or-death battle with Covid.
She said her former Good Morning Britain colleague and long-time friend told her: “You have to fight this. Do not crumble.”
Kate, 54, said Piers’ tough love worked, helping her to keep going as stricken Derek Draper struggled on.
She said: “When Piers rang he did what the Piers I’ve known for 20 years always did, and went into Churchillian rallying mode.
“‘Right, Kate, get a grip. You’re a brilliant journalist. Do what you do best … get on this. Get to the bottom of the situation.
“He was like a rugby team captain, preparing me for the pitch, quoting every inspirational figure he could from Churchill to Nelson Mandela.”
In her new book, The Power of Hope, Kate added: “It worked, spurring me on.”
Derek, 53, was put in a coma after catching Covid in March last year. He went home only this April to Kate and their children Darcey, 15, and Bill, 11.
