Piers Morgan has announced he will be holding a surgery in Matt Hancock’s constituency while the MP is starring on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here.

After announcing that he was going into the jungle, Hancock faced criticism that he was abandoning his constituents by being unable to hold surgeries, especially at a time of rising inflation and surging energy bills.

Piers Morgan has now confirmed that he will be holding a surgery of his own in Hancock’s constituency of West Suffolk.

He said on Twitter: “I’ll be hosting Piers Uncensored tonight from inside Matt Hancock’s local pub, The Cock Inn in Little Thurlow, West Suffolk, and holding a surgery for his local constituents who he’s deserted to eat kangaroo testicles in Australia.”

The broadcast from Hancock’s constituency is set to air at 9pm, 15 November on Talk TV.

Morgan has been a frequent critic of Hancock since he announced he was going on the reality show.

The controversial journalist and broadcaster accused Hancock of “profiting from his own failure” after it was reported he was to be paid £400,000 to enter the jungle.

Morgan also said: “Few politicians in modern history have failed harder and more often than Matt Hancock,” before joking “I never thought I’d say this, but I actually feel sorry for the kangaroo testicles.”

Hancock’s decision to join I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here also saw him suspended from the Conservative party and criticised by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

Sunak said: “I think politics is a noble profession, at its best – it can and should be – but it’s incumbent on politicians to earn people’s respect and trust. They do that by working hard for their constituents, as the vast majority of MPs do – that is why I was very disappointed with Matt’s decision.”
