Months of campaigning has led to record-breaking turnout in the 2020 election. Before the polls officially opened Nov. 3, more than 100 million Americans already voted nationwide via early voting, according to a CNN report.
The vote comes amid a backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic that has upended lives everywhere and led to a many casting their ballots via mail or early voting. According the AP, election night started with predictable victories for the incumbent President Donald Trump and the challenger former Vice President Joe Biden. Trump took Kentucky and West Virginia while Biden won Vermont and Virginia.
