Phil Foden sounds out one Man City star and heaps praise on his performance against Borussia Dortmund

Speaking after the 2-1 victory over Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday night, Phil Foden had nothing but high praise for his Belgian teammate Kevin de Bruyne.
De Bruyne, who was named as the official UEFA Man of the Match after his midfield masterclass against the Black and Yellows, scored the opening goal of the game and went on to provide a mesmerising delivery into the box to set up Phil Foden for the late winner.
“We all know how special he is,” Foden said while speaking exclusively to Manchester City’s club website after the match. “He is always finding the right pass at the right time.”
Foden continued, “It’s a relief, we had a lot of chances before that to put us in the lead. In the end I’m just happy to score and help the team in a crucial time for us.”
Despite praising the performance of his team, Foden was keen to credit Borussia Dortmund for the competition they provided Pep Guardiola’s side under the Etihad lights.
Foden went on to say, “We’re always confident and try to stay focused for the full 90. They’re a great team so they’ll have spells where they’re going to have the ball. The second leg is going to be a really interesting game, and we have to stay focused for the full 90 minutes.”
“As a team we’re doing brilliantly, we’re fighting for everything we can, and we’ll fight to the end”, the England international closed.
Phil Foden will be travelling with the Manchester City squad next week, as they travel to Germany to face Borussia Dortmund once again in the second and final-leg of the quarter-final tie.
