Phil Foden reportedly left his England team mates ‘stunned’ back in November, when he exposed his hidden talents in the field of darts, potentially becoming the best darts player in Gareth Southgate’s squad.
You’re probably beginning to wonder what the Stockport-born midfield sensation can’t do, right?! Well, we wouldn’t blame you either. The 20-year-old is a keen and talented fisherman, one of the brightest prospects on the football pitch, and now clearly a King of the Oche.
According to an exclusive report from the Daily Star this weekend, it is claimed that Foden left his international team mates ‘stunned’ in late November, hitting a maximum 180 on the darts board – underlining his ‘growing reputation’ as the best darts player in the squad.
Th Star go on to quote an insider within the England camp, who highlighted Foden’s footballing talents, but hinted at a possible career in darts once he hangs up his boots – which is undoubtedly over a decade away.
The source said, “We all know Phil is a brilliant footballing talent and is destined to go on and do big things, hopefully for both club and country, and it seems he could have another career playing darts when he eventually does hang up his boots!”
“Nobody really fancies taking on Phil these days. He doesn’t really play darts, but Phil has hit some 180s and regularly wins all the games of ‘Killer’ and ‘Round the Board’ – he’s a darts shark”, he finished.
Foden is currently enduring one of his best runs in the Manchester City shirt to date, and has firmly established himself as part of the first-team squad rotation.
Despite playing predominantly on the wing under Pep Guardiola, the youngster has scored 11 goals and provided six assists – averaging a goal contribution every 125.2 minutes of action.
