Petr Cech steps down as Chelsea technical adviser as exodus continues

Petr Cech has become the latest senior figure to leave Chelsea, with the club’s incoming owners now set to appoint a new technical director.
The hero of Chelsea’s Champions League final victory in Munich in 2012, Cech returned to Stamford Bridge three years ago to work alongside director Marina Granovskaia as technical and performance adviser.
However, the announcement was made last week that Granovskaia and the chairman Bruce Buck would be leaving, and now the former goalkeeper Cech has joined the exodus.
It means the new co-owner Todd Boehly, who has succeeded Buck as chairman and also adopted Granovskaia’s role in pursuing Chelsea’s transfer targets this summer, is taking on even more responsibility. However, club insiders say the appointment of a technical director is imminent,
