Los Angeles Clippers star Paul George is tuning out the haters during the 2020 NBA playoffs.
George shared an image on Instagram Thursday that read: “Idgaf what anybody think about me.”
The implication seems obvious after the Los Angeles Clippers lost to the Dallas Mavericks 127-114 on Wednesday night. George had a double-double (14 points, 10 rebounds) but shot 4-of-17 from the field and 2-of-10 from beyond the arc.
One knock on the six-time All-Star over the years is that he has failed to step up in the postseason in the way you’d expect somebody with his talent would. His teams haven’t advanced past the first round in any of the previous four seasons, and he shot a combined 38.7 percent from the field in what proved to be the decisive games.
If George is tired of hearing from people who have pored over his playoff disappointments, then he might want to consider adopting LeBron James’ old Zero Dark Thirty-23 Mode, wherein James would turn off social media entirely in his quest for a title.
Ultimately, his best option might be to have an outstanding performance when the Clippers and Mavs face off again for Game 3 on Friday.
