The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Philadelphia Eagles, 38-35, in Super Bowl LVII on Sunday night and quarterback Patrick Mahomes was named the game’s MVP.
For Mahomes, it’s his second Super Bowl title and second Super Bowl MVP in five years. It also puts him in highly rarefied territory.
Mahomes joins New York Giants legend Eli Manning as one of just six quarterbacks in history with two or more Super Bowl MVP awards.

Talk about elite company.
“He wants to be the greatest player ever,” Chiefs coach Andy Reid said after the game, via ESPN. “And he does it humbly. He does the work. And then when it’s time for the players around him to raise their game, he helps them do that.”
Mahomes has established his legacy and will now take the reigns as the NFL’s top quarterback in the aftermath of Brady’s retirement.
