Patrick Bamford becomes Leeds penalty taker after Klich’s West Ham miss

Patrick Bamford looks to have gained an additional amount of value for FPL bosses after the English striker took the penalty for Leeds giving them a 1-0 lead against Burnley.

Previously it had been Mateusz Klich who was in charge of Leeds United’s penalties but after his miss against West Ham United, it appears that Marcelo Bielsa has chosen Bamford as his new penalty taker.

With the goal, Bamford became he joined third fastest Leeds striker to reach 10 premier League goals after Mark Viduka and Tony Yeboah. At £6.4 million, the value for money of the English striker has increased with him now being the northern club’s primary spot-kick taker.

Bielsa’s Christmas gesture

Patrick Bamford revealed that Marcelo Bielsa has given his best Santa impression over the Christmas period and provider gifts in the form of a raffle draw for the Leeds staff.

“To be fair, Marcelo actually does a raffle draw, everyone gets a ticket with a number on. It’s not for the players or the physio staff but the staff around the training ground like the people in the kitchen, the ground staff or in the offices,” said Bamford.

“They get a chance to win something. Last year the kit man won a car. It was a Golf or a Fiat or something. I don’t know if Marcelo bought it himself but he does the raffle so I’m presuming so.”

“Us players don’t play any part in it but he does it for the staff to keep them all included. It’s really nice. I’ve never heard of that before so it was brilliant when I saw it.”

Leeds have been a very welcome addition to the Premier League this season. Their attacking style of play and commitment to the pitch for the entirety of the 90 minutes has led to some extremely entertaining fixtures.

Could it possibly be this continual positivity around the training ground instilled by Bielsa which contributing to the club’s feel-good attitude on the pitch?
