Paige Opens Up About Meeting With Chris and His Ex in ‘Married at First Sight’ Sneak Peek

It’s lady’s night on the next episode of Married at First Sight, and Paige will have quite the update about her life as a newlywed when she meets with her castmates.
As seen in the above Newsweek-exclusive sneak peek, Paige and the rest of the women of Season 12 get together to catch up. When the ladies ask how everything’s going with her and Chris, Paige responds that she’s “great,” but the women can tell that she’s being sarcastic.
“I’m in good spirits, you know,” Paige assures them before finally giving the women the low-down on her latest encounter with her estranged husband, Chris, and his ex-fiancée, Mercedes.
“I actually met with Chris and the mother of his child—well, his ex-fiancée—and I just kind of let them both know that I came here with pure intentions. And I was just like, you know, this relationship no longer serves me at this point. So I’m just going to take myself out of it. I’m done, bye,” Paige explains.
The ladies listen intently while their faces are flooded with expressions of concern. Hayley nods her head in agreement with Paige. She agrees with her castmate’s choice to walk away from the chaotic situation with Chris. However, Paige throws the women a curveball when she reveals that Chris contacted her following their meeting.

“Plot twist: He did reach out to me the other day. Yeah, he wants to have a conversation,” Paige says.
Clara is shocked by this news. “Again?” she asks.
“Just me and him, though,” Paige replies.
The side-eyes and eye-rolls make it pretty clear that the rest of the Season 12 wives don’t think it’s a great idea for Paige to speak with Chris after all that he’s put her through. The last few weeks have been a total rollercoaster for the couple, with Chris revealing that he was expecting a child with a woman he was engaged to only a year before joining the show. His confession that he wanted to work things out with his ex hasn’t really been helpful to his marriage with Paige, either.
However, Paige is interested in hearing Chris out. After all, they still have a few more weeks to go before Decision Day, during which they ultimately decide whether or not they will get a divorce.
Married at First Sight airs on Lifetime on Wednesday night at 8 p.m. ET.
