The leader of the Opposition took over from the party after Jeremy Corbyn stepped down following the worst election defeat since 1935. But now Owen Jones, who was a vocal supporter of Mr Corbyn, has warned Sir Keir faces a huge problem.
He tweeted: “The Labour leadership risks being locked into a cycle of falling polling numbers and constantly announced relaunches.
“Their central problem is they lack a coherent vision for what they want to do with power.
“I doubt resurrecting the ghosts of New Labour’s past will solve that.”
Today, Labour’s shadow chief secretary to the Treasury, Bridget Phillipson, was grilled over whether the party has become “boring” under Sir Keir’s leadership.

She told Sky’s Sophie Ridge: “Little of a year ago we suffered one of the worst general election defeats in our history.
“So we always knew it was going to take a long time to regain the trust of the British people once more.
“But I think we have made tremendous progress over the course of that time under Keir Starmer’s new leadership.
“If you had said to me in December 2019 that we would have made the progress we have made already I would have taken off your right arm to have been making such fantastic progress.

“But of course after such a terrible defeat it will take time to regain the trust of the British people once more.
“But I think there is at the same time an expectation from the British people that we are constructive in the opposition that we put to the government.
“This is a crisis like no other.”
Sir Keir was left red-faced after a number of opinion poll results found Labour trailing behind the Tories despite the ongoing coronavirus crisis.

Earlier this month, a plan to rebrand the Opposition party as a party of patriots was leaked to the Guardian.
The “use of the flag, veterans and dressing smartly” was proposed as part of a plan to rebrand the Opposition party.
Labour Party insiders also warned Sir Keir is failing to take the battle to the Government.
One Labour source said: “Even Piers Morgan has more traction with these voters to criticise this Government than we do.

“Our problem is that the public wants Boris Johnson to do well.
“They think he’s had a really bad hand and they want him to succeed.
“We haven’t got permission to be in the room.”
