MUSKEGON, MI — The Muskegon Risers shut out the visiting FC Columbus team, 2-0, to win their first NPSL Great Lakes Conference Championship win.
Both of the Risers’ goals were scored by forward Vitalis Takawira Jr. in the first and second half, bringing the team to a record of 8-0-2 for their season.
The Risers go into the playoffs starting on July 22 with the Midwest Regional Semi-Finals at home after earning a first-round bye.
