Belong Gaming Arenas and OpTic Gaming have partnered to celebrate the birthday of one of North America’s most prestigious esports organizations. The pair are partnering for “OpTic Day,” a celebration of OpTic’s founding on Aug. 14, 2006. Belong Gaming Arenas will adorn its six U.S. locations in OpTic green, host meet-and-greets with OpTic talent at its Illinois and Grapevine, Texas, arenas and debut an exclusive merchandise drop for attendees. This all takes place Aug. 14.

Among the merchandise available will be an OpTic-branded letterman’s jacket, a pleated skirt, socks, and a hat developed alongside vintage sports apparel company Mitchell and Ness. The items—and the event—will only be available Aug.14. Additionally, the Belong locations will host Call of Duty: Warzone tournaments. Belong has arenas in Columbus, Ohio; Schaumburg, Ill.; Franklin, Tenn.; King of Prussia, Penn.; and Grapevine and Pearland in Texas.

In 2021, OpTic merged with Envy Gaming. Envy’s Call of Duty League team, the Dallas Empire, rebranded to OpTic Texas. Envy kept the rights to its Overwatch League team, Dallas Fuel. OpTic’s CDL slot was sold to the Kraft Group and Oxygen Esports, per SBJ’s Kevin Hitt. In late June, OpTic officially sunset the Envy brand.

OpTic founder and owner Hector “Hecz” Rodriguez will be making an appearance at the Schaumburg location—Schaumburg is an area of Chicago, Rodriguez’s hometown. Doors will open at 1 p.m. Eastern on Aug. 14.
