On his birthday, these vintage John Wall highlights will get you excited for his return

John Wall #JohnWall

After missing the last season-and-a-half recovering from an Achilles injury, John Wall is set to make his long-awaited return to the court next year.

On his 30th birthday, the Wizards posted a vintage highlight reel to get fans excited about seeing him on the floor once again. You know, in the anticipation wasn’t already at an all-time high.

Wall rejoins a very different Wizards team than the one he was forced to leave in the middle of the 2018-19 season.

Bradley Beal has turned into a primary ball handler and was one of the league’s most prolific scorers in 2019-20, in just one season with Washington, Davis Bertans became one of the most feared sharpshooters in the game.

Ish Smith proved to be one of the most capable backup point guards the Wizards have had in a long time, while the young core of Troy Brown Jr., Rui Hachimura, Moe Wagner and Thomas Bryant showed promise in expanded roles.

The Wizards probably need to make the playoffs next year considering the roster they’ll have, and if Wall’s can play at the level he did in the highlights above, achieving that goal shouldn’t be much of issue.
