Ohio State football vs. Rutgers: Prediction, point spread, odds, best bet

Dame #Dame

The Ohio State Buckeyes play the Rutgers Scarlet Knights on Saturday at noon, and if you’re looking to do some last-minute betting research, you’re in luck! We’ll give you the latest point spread, money line odds, and over/under number, as well as the information you’ll need to make the smartest bet.

The game will be an early day Big Ten matchup and can be seen on CBS. The Buckeyes are 8-0 and are getting ready to take on a surprisingly impressive Rutgers squad that is 6-2.

Ohio State is coming off a slightly underwhelming win over the Wisconsin Badgers, 24-10. The Scarlet Knights are coming off a bye week; their last game was a dominating victory over the Indiana Hoosiers, 31-14.

The Buckeyes are tied with the Michigan Wolverines at the top of the Big Ten East. Both are undefeated. Meanwhile, Rutgers has a 3-2 conference record and is not completely out of the Big Ten Championship race. The Scarlet Knights have losses against Michigan and Wisconsin.

Point Spread: Ohio State minus-18.5 over Rutgers

Moneyline: Ohio State minus-1100 at Rutgers plus-700

Over-Under: 42.5 points

In regard to injuries, both programs look relatively healthy. There are no notable injuries on the Scarlet Knights’ side, which is to be expected for a team coming off the bye. The Buckeyes have been dinged up and Emeka Egbuka has missed the last two weeks.

Advice and Prediction

Ohio State should be able to handle Rutgers and beat the spread. After the Buckeyes struggled with Wisconsin last week, I might stay away from that large of a spread. What does interest me, is the total. I certainly like the over in this situation.

  • Best Bet: Total 42.5
  • Prediction: Ohio State 42-7
