Nunez pitches Woodbridge past Colonia – Baseball recap
Nunez #Nunez
Eddy Nunez pitched six innings and yielded two unearned runs on three hits and a walk with two strikeouts as Woodbridge downed Colonia, 7-2, in Colonia.
Shawn Kish, Xavier Diaz, and Tyler Weber had multi-hit games for the Barrons, who tallied 11 hits as a team.
Colonia scored first in the second before Woodbridge plated three runs in the fourth and tacked on another three in the fifth to jump ahead 6-2.
Diaz drove in two runs and Ty Kobylakiewicz tripled, had an RBI, and scored two times as well.
Eduardo Tapia singled and scored both runs for Colonia.
The game marked the season opener for both teams.
A year ago, Woodbridge went 25-7 and made the North 2, Group 4 final and has plenty of talent back. It appears to have picked up where it left off.
