Not Even Brendan Knew Why He Was Still On The Bachelorette

We’re seven episodes into Katie Thurston’s season of The Bachelorette, and as both she and the other contestants like to keep reminding us, hometowns are coming up. This typically means that the only men left are frontrunners, but on the July 19 episode, there was one contestant fans didn’t recognize: Brendan Quinn, who — along with Twitter — couldn’t figure out why he was still on the show.

Brendan had hopes he’d finally get some one-on-one time with Katie. But, once the group date list was revealed he realized he didn’t make the cut. “The biggest question is why am I still here?” he asked the other men, who all had time with Katie. “I didn’t get time at group date,” he continued, adding “I didn’t get time at cocktail. Three great guys went home. Why am I still here?” He went to Katie’s room to ask her himself. Unfortunately for Brendan, his earlier questions foreshadowed his elimination. After he bore his heart to Katie, she interjected “I’m gonna stop you right there” sharing that she couldn’t imagine them having enough time together for her to get to know him before hometowns and, of course, sending him home.

Countless tweets mirrored Katie and Brendan’s conversation, sharing that they too had zero time to get to know Brendan.

Even before his elimination, bachelor nation was trying to figure out who this man is, even saying that he was finally going to get a chance to meet Katie tonight.

Some fans joked about Brendan asking the same question on camera that viewers were asking back home. Why exactly was he still there?

And others remarked on the cringe moment when Brendan asked the men why he had made it so far and no one seemed to have an answer for him.

Some viewers tweeted about Brendan’s lack of screen time, even mentioning that contestant Michael A’s son who he’s FaceTimed a few times has gotten more screen time than Brendan.

There were also tweets about the moment Brendan showed up at Katie’s door, and how she barely seemed to know that man.
