As often happens, March Madness has given way to sanity during the Sweet 16 round.

Michigan became the third No. 1 seed to advance to the Elite Eight on Sunday, blowing out fourth-seeded Florida State 76-58 in an East Region semifinal.

Hunter Dickinson and Brandon Johns scored 14 points each, and Franz Wagner added 13 points and 10 rebounds for Michigan (23-4), which advanced to the Elite Eight for the 14th time. Chaundee Brown added 12 points of the bench as Michigan continues to thrive despite the absence of injured forward Isaiah Livers. Michigan awaits the winner of Alabama and UCLA in Tuesday’s regional final.

Malik Osborne paced FSU with 12 points and M.J. Walker had 10, the only Seminoles in double figures as the team struggled to get anything going on offense for most of the game. Florida State (18-7) shot just 5-for-20 from 3-point range and committed 14 turnovers.

After the teams traded baskets early, a spate of FSU turnovers helped the Wolverines build a 17-8 lead. The advantage grew to 32-21 at halftime as the Seminoles continued to struggle on offense.

Osborne finally hit the Seminoles’ first t-pointer with 15:37 left in the second half. That sparked a run that helped FSU briefly cut the deficit to 41-36, but the Wolverines answered with a 7-0 burst of their own. The lead eventually ballooned to 21, with most of Michigan’s points coming on layups and dunks.
