Nicki Minaj and Megan Thee Stallion’s long-standing beef has escalated following the release of Megan’s latest track HISS.
Fans of the rappers have speculated about a feud between the Super Bass songstress, 41, and the Savage hitmaker, 28, and this has all but been confirmed following Nicki’s X meltdown after Megan’s new song hit the airwaves.
In it, Megan seems to take a swipe at Nicki through her husband, Kenneth Perry, which saw Nicki take to her social media pages to blast the rapper and dig at her late mother and career.
The explosive row also saw Nicki release a new single, Big Foot, which sees her make a number of scandalous claims about Megan’s personal and professional life.
As the warring musicians continue to row, this is where their infamous rivalry began and how HISS and Big Foot play into the narrative.
When did Nicki Minaj and Megan Thee Stallion’s feud begin?
Nicki and Megan’s animosity predates the release of HISS and Big Foot, appearing to stem from Megan’s rise to fame with Cardi B with the release of WAP in 2020.

Their collaboration reportedly made Nicki jealous after she and Megan had worked together on 2019 single Hot Girl Summer.
Shortly after, Megan unfollowed Nicki on Instagram, with Nicki doing the same in 2021 which led fans to speculate the pair were beefing.
In the same year, fans speculated Nicki’s single Seeing Green took a swipe at Megan with the lyric: ‘One Margarita pizza with Parmesan and garlic/These b***hes thirsty; I can see why they alcoholics.’
Three months later Megan released Thot S**t, in which she seemingly responded: ‘B***h dry hatin’, tryna get noticed. Man, ain’t nobody come to see you, Otis, look.’
Last year, Nicki took yet another apparent swipe at Megan in her single Red Ruby Da Sleeze, which references horses, or stallions: ‘Seven-hundred on ’em horses when we fixin’ to leave (Uh-oh)/But I don’t f**k with horses since Christopher Reeves.’
Why did HISS reignite their feud?
When Megan’s single HISS was released on January 26, fans picked up on lines that could spark drama with Nicki, Kim Kardashian, and Tory Lanez.

One controversial line in the song that fans linked to Nicki references Megan’s Law, a federal statute which requires law enforcement to make the information of registered sex offenders available to the public.
She raps: ‘These h**s don’t be mad at Megan, these h**s mad at Megan’s Law/I don’t really know what the problem is, but I guarantee y’all don’t want me to start.’
Fans made the connection to Nicki due to her husband Kenneth being convicted of attempted first-degree rape in connection with a 1994 assault.
In 2022, Kenneth received one year of home confinement, three years probation, and a $55,000 (£43k) fine for failing to register as a sex offender when he moved to California alongside Nicki.
The lyric could also be in reference to Nicki’s brother, Jelani Maraj, who was convicted of predatory sexual assault in 2017.

Following the release of HISS, Nicki began to vent while also liking and reposting support from fans.
She later penned a post which appeared to call Megan a ‘manipulative liar’ while bringing up her dispute with her former record label.
‘Horrible ACTOR that can’t cry on cue,” Minaj wrote. “Don’t try to act bookie it’s a chop… Pathological & manipulative liar…Using ghost writers & still SUCK.’
She continued by referencing Megan’s late mother and alleged that Megan lied during her 2022 interview with Gayle King which addressed her controversy with Lanez in which he shot her in the foot in 2020.
Nicki went on to repost Pardison Fontaine’s latest single THEE PERSON, which is said to be about his ex-girlfriend – Megan.

The Barbie World rapper also slated Megan on an Instagram Live, in which she allegedly said (per NME): ‘You bringing up 30-year-old tea from when this man was a 15-year-old child. You bringing up 30-year-old tea cause no man will ever f*****g love you, and lying on your dead mother.’
Megan has not directly addressed if the song references Nicki, but speaking to US radio show The Breakfast Club, she said: ‘A hit dog will holler. Whoever feel it, feel it.’
When did Nicki release Big Foot?
In response, Nicki dropped Big Foot on January 28, sharing a picture of the album’s artwork alongside a picture of Megan on Gayle King to announce the news.

The cryptic posts from Nicki stopped on Sunday when she finally named Megan as the subject of her vitriol, writing on X: ‘You scary ass p***y ass broke ass heaux. Scared of me putting a song out but tryna spar with the mthfkng QUEEN. lied on yo DEAD @theestallion.’
After claiming she recorded her verse on Hot Girl Summer for free, she said she was preparing Big Foot but had held off releasing it so Megan could ‘get her lil streams.’
Nicki went on Instagram Live where she shared a sneak peek of the song which took a dig at Megan: ‘Bad b***h she like 6 foot/I call her big foot/the b***h fell off/I said get up on your good foot,’ referencing Lanez.
In December 2022, Lanez was convicted of assault with a semiautomatic firearm following the incident, and was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
Megan has not yet responded to Nicki’s posts or the release of Big Foot.
