The NFL season rolls on with Week 3 this weekend, and there’s plenty to get excited about. Who will avoid an 0-3 start between the surprisingly winless Chargers and Vikings? State of the NFL after two weeks

It’s Week 3 in the NFL, and we’re starting to learn some things. First off, there are nine 2-0 teams. The 49ers, Cowboys, Dolphins and Ravens look dangerous, while the Falcons, Eagles, Saints and Commanders are also undefeated, but have been less impressive. As for the potential of the unbeaten Buccaneers, well, it’s anyone’s guess.

There are also nine 0-2 teams. The best of the bunch, at least on paper, are the Bengals and Chargers, but at least from a historical perspective, both of these teams is in big trouble. Then there are the Vikings and Patriots, who have competed valiantly against tough competition but come up short. The Broncos, Cardinals and Panthers have also been competitive, and even the Texans have shown signs of life. The Bears, on the other hand? Well, there are a lot of problems.

There’s still plenty of football left to play, so some of these early results may turn out to be inconsequential by season’s end. A team who starts hot could fade down the stretch, just like a club who begins slowly could finish strong. Week 3 will provide another data point into who these franchises are and what they can accomplish as the 2023 season progresses.
