NFL fans couldn’t figure out why A.J. Brown was so upset at Jalen Hurts that Nick Sirianni had to step in

Admittedly, the Philadelphia Eagles haven’t played their best football to start the 2023 season. With a stacked roster like this, expectations in Philadelphia are sky-high. The defending NFC champions should not be eking out wins, but … they’re still 2-0.

Yet, for some reason, A.J. Brown seemed weirdly upset with Jalen Hurts late in their matchup with the Minnesota Vikings. Never mind that the Eagles’ offense amassed 34 points and over 400 yards (259 on the ground!) in a win. Brown — who had four catches for 29 yards on six targets — apparently had a bone to pick with his starting quarterback.

And it got so testy that head coach Nick Sirianni stepped in to calm Brown down.

If Brown is upset about his usage, I get it. He has just 11 catches through two games and might not feel he’s being utilized like a bona fide WR1. These unfortunate sorts of pass interference plays have some been of his most eye-opening moments, which says a lot. And then there’s this eye-opening stat:

Targets since Eagles 2022 bye (16 games):

But bringing up a gripe about not getting the ball enough during a pivotal game on national television where your offense scored 34 points is not the time. That would be a major red-flag reaction for a team trying to return to the Super Bowl and finish the job this time around. Brown’s bizarre situation will be an intriguing one to watch for the league’s heavyweights trying to hold it together. Stay tuned.

Need to know what was exactly said but considering at this point in the game the Eagles were winning by multiple scores. . . It’s not a good look. Wins >>> stats https://t.co/LfcAK3s3qs
