Neymar has been snapped in the first range with his new sponsors Puma following his shock switch to the German sportswear giant after leaving Nike.

The 28-year-old ended his close, 15-year partnership with Nike last month, quitting the American brand after they backed his rise from the age of 13.

He then went on to sign a massive £23million-per-year deal – the largest individual sponsorship contract in sport – with Puma, and has now posed with his first apparel range, which includes the Puma KING Platinum boot in black and white.

His signature NJR logo has also been integrated into the range along with Puma’s classic Formstrip, and the boot includes the latest performance technology initiatives to help with control and touch.

The collection also comes with a Neymar t-shirt, full tracksuit and hoodie, with Neymar pictured smiling and showing off all the latest items, including the company’s latest version of its iconic boot.

The pictures come after the Paris Saint-Germain star eclipsed Cristiano Ronaldo’s £15m Nike deal by a massive £8m, while Lionel Messi’s £18m Adidas partnership is also dwarfed by the Brazilian’s.

The Brazil forward still had two years left on an 11-year deal with Nike before he decided to break it off with the American company, though the length of his contract with their German counterparts is unknown.

But his eye-watering contract at Puma was revealed by Forbes, as per The Sun, last month.

Neymar insisted Puma’s history was also an important factor in joining them, saying: ‘I grew up watching videos of great football legends such as Pele, Cruyff, Matthaus, Eusebio and Maradona.

‘I wish to bring back the legacy that those athletes created on the pitch.’
