There have been several favourites for the Leeds United job vacated by Jesse Marsch with former Wolves and Spurs head coach Nuno Espirito Santo the latest.
All odds are taken from Oddschecker…
1) Nuno Espirito Santo
A complete different style of football from the former Tottenham and Wolves man who is currently in Saudi Arabia and would very much like to return to the Premier League, thank you.
2) Andoni Iraola
A former player under Marcelo Bielsa at Athletic Bilbao, Iraola is currently the manager of Rayo Vallecano. His style is very Bielsa-like and he would presumably have the approval of the great man himself. But he has now been ruled out.
3) Michael Skubala
We are in dangerous territory here. The caretaker manager is third-favourite after taking charge of both Premier League matches against the Red Devils last week.
4) Steven Gerrard
This has disaster written all over it.
5) Arne Slot
Last season he was handed the Rinus Michels Award for the Eredivisie Manager of the Year. With his side second in the Eredivisie after being leapfrogged on Friday, would he leave a title challenge for a relegation fight? Probably not. He recently said this: “I will stay with Feyenoord. I can say that with this one.”
6) Ange Postecoglou
Big Ange is doing a cracking job north of the border. He had a shaky start with Celtic but then p*ssed the league and is doing so again this season. He would be a terrific appointment, but does he know OUR LEAGUE?!
7) Alfred Schreuder
Sacked by Ajax in January after replacing Erik ten Hag last summer, Schreuder became the strong favourite to become the new Leeds boss and was reportedly in attendance to watch the home defeat to Manchester United. However, he has been ruled out of the running.
8) Kjetil Knutsen
The FK Bodo/Glimt manager is a bit of an outsider at around 20/1.
