Newcastle United WAGs out in force as team reach Wembley with Bruno’s baby son also at St James’
Wembley #Wembley
Newcastle United players had their families in the crowd at St James’ Park to see the side book a historic return to Wembley on Tuesday night.
After heading back to Tyneside with a narrow 1-0 away win to Southampton last week, Eddie Howe’s men and a packed house of fans were hoping they’d do the business under the lights and return to London’s famous ground for a final for the first time in 24 years, having last been there for an FA Cup defeat to Manchester United in 1999.
Things couldn’t have got off to a better start for United when local lad Sean Longstaff scored in the opening minutes, netting for the first time at St James’ in four years, before sending the Gallowgate to dream land with a second in the first half, to put the aggregates score at a very commanding 3-0.

Southampton pulled one back before the break through Che Adams, but it wasn’t enough as the Magpies collectively told their ma’ they wouldn’t be home for tea and clinched a trip to Wembley.
Newcastle WAGs can always be relied onto to bring the support and captain Kieran Trippier’s wife Charlotte once again led the way from the skipper’s own box at SJP. As she so often does, Charlotte treated her growing number of Instagram followers to an insight into the amazing atmosphere inside the ground, as flags and scarves were held aloft and local DJ Schak performed a set pitchside.
Bruno Guimaraes’ fiancée Ana Martins was also there but this time, not on her own, as the couple’s baby son Mateo was also wrapped up in the crowd, hours after Ana uploaded a photo of the little one in a mini NUFC top. Judging by her Insta story, the mood was very much a celebratory one in Ana’s box at half time, but she then had to watch as Bruno was given a straight red card after an awful second half tackle. However, with enough league games before Wembley, Bruno won’t miss the final.

Joelinton’s children were also decked out in black and white as they and his other half Thays Gondim also headed to St James’.
As many of the players’ families toasted their win, there was an emotional moment for Jonjo Shelvey and his family, with the midfielder and his children going onto the pitch at half time to say goodbye, as he completed a move to Nottingham Forest.
