The club posted a loss of £73.4million for the year ending June 30, 2023, largely due to incoming transfers, which does fall within permitted FFP limits.
However, the approach of the previous few years since their takeover by the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund is not thought to be sustainable and big names will have to leave, with Almiron the first to be faced with exiting St James’ Park.
