The New York Yankees are one of the hottest teams in baseball at the moment. New York has won 10 straight games and kept that momentum going with a 3-2 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday. The Blue Jays will counter by going to Alek Manoah for the start on Tuesday, while Jameson Taillon gets the ball for the Yankees. Let’s take a look at the odds for this matchup.

New York Yankees at Toronto Blue Jays odds
The Yankees have primarily been favorites during their 10-game winning streak, but New York is a slight underdog on the road at +120 at FanDuel Sportsbook, while the Blue Jays are listed as -125 favorites on the money line. The game is expected to be close, with New York’s +1.5 run line listed at -195, and the Toronto run line -1.5 at +165 odds. The total — or over/under — opened at 8 runs and has since been bet down to 7.5. Based on the money and tickets so far, the market seems to think that this game will be a low scoring one. Let’s get into our predictions for Tuesday’s contest.
New York Yankees at Toronto Blue Jays run line prediction: Toronto -1.5 (+165)
The Yankees are arguably the hottest team in the major leagues and the emergence of their bats has been the biggest reason for their recent success. During this winning streak, New York has scored fewer than five runs just three times. The Yankees are also 3rd in baseball in ERA, so it’s clear they can beat you a bunch of different ways. But the Blue Jays are no pushover. Toronto has not lost a series yet, and the only one the Blue Jays didn’t win was a four-game split in the Bronx. The source of Toronto’s success has been an excellent 9-3 record in one-run ball games this season, thanks to clutch hitting and solid bullpen work. They are winning a lot of games, despite not playing their best baseball through the first month of the season.
Jameson Taillon has gotten off to a good start in his second season as a Yankee, but New York is not going to push him too hard, especially with his injury history. Taillon pitched against Toronto in that first series, but took the loss in a decent outing. That is actually his only loss of the season through his first four starts. Blue Jays right-hander Alek Manoah is off to a brilliant start to the 2022 campaign. Manoah is one of a handful of pitchers to start the season 4-0, including a dominant win against the Yankees, in which he held the Bronx Bombers scoreless for six innings and allowed just one hit. In his short career, the righty has been outstanding against New York.
With Manoah having so much success against the Yankees historically, Toronto could bounce back in a big way and halt New York’s momentum. The Blue Jays have played a ton of close games this season, but each of their wins against the Yankees in April were by two or more runs. Our prediction is for Toronto to win the middle game of this series by at least two runs.
New York Yankees at Toronto Blue Jays total prediction: Over 7.5 (+100)
While both of these lineups can terrify opposing pitchers, each of these teams has played to the under so far this season. In fact, four of the five games they have played against each other have finished under the listed total as well, including a matchup between Manoah and Taillon that finished with a 3-0 scoreline at Yankee Stadium. However, we lean towards a little more offense this time around in the climate-controlled Rogers Centre. With the outside temperatures and wind conditions reduced to a non-factor, each offense should produce at least a couple of runs against the opposing starter, or in the later innings against the relievers. In April’s series, the winning teams scored at least 6 runs in every game and that should continue on Tuesday. Our prediction is for there to be at least nine runs scored between these two teams.
