Mets starter Max Scherzer had a rough outing against the Brewers, allowing back-to-back-to-back home runs.

It was a night to forget for Max Scherzer.

Scherzer, who was already in a 2-0 hole after giving up a two-run double in the first inning, saw the wheels come off for him in the bottom of the sixth.

After recording the first out in the sixth, Scherzer surrendered back-to-back-to-back home runs.

First, it was Rowdy Telez, who took a curveball from Scherzer deep and out of the ballpark.

Next, it was former Marlin Brian Anderson, who launched a solo shot off Scherzer over the center field fence.

Lastly, Garrett Mitchell put the icing on the cake with a homer to right field off of Scherzer.

Scherzer walked the next batter he faced, which would be his last.

This was just the second time in Scherzer’s career, where he allowed three straight home runs in a game. The first time came back in 2017 when he was with the Nationals, while facing the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Scherzer’s final line was 5.1 innings, 95 pitches, eight hits, five earned runs, three home runs, two walks and two strikeouts.

Through his first two starts of the season, Scherzer has allowed eight runs and four home runs in 11.1 innings (6.35 ERA).
