The National Examination Council NECO has released the Senior School Certificate Examination results conducted between November and December 2023, 67 days after the last paper was written.
The organisation also on Monday unveiled an e- Posting automated annual posting Platform for its staff.
Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of NECO Professor Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, who released the results, disclosed that 50,066 candidates, out of the 74,342 candidates that registered for the examination, passed at credit and above levels in five subjects including English and Mathematics.
Wushishi also said that 62,530 candidates representing 84 .11% got five credits and above irrespective of English language and Mathematics.
The Registrar further disclosed that though there was a decrease of 25.4% in malpractice cases when compared to such incidents last year, two centres, one each in Kaduna and Ogun states, were found culpable, adding that two supervisors in Oyo and Lagos states were blacklisted for poor performance.
He said one centre in Borno state was also blacklisted for siding and abetting ” by sharing Whatsapp messages to candidates.”
Wushishi disclosed that 8518 candidates were booked for various forms of malpractices.
Launching the Automated Annual Posting Calendar – e- Posting, the Registrar said the exercise was to remove series of complaints associated with manual process of posting of staff for assignments
“With this new development, every staff will be notified at the beginning of the year about the type and number of assignments they are eligible for as well as the place of assignments”.
