NBA Prop Bet Payday: Golden State Warriors at Brooklyn Nets prop predictions
Brooklyn #Brooklyn
It’s a new era for the Brooklyn Nets who host a Golden State Warriors team trying to recapture their championship form in the 2020-21 NBA season opener at Barclays Cente Tuesday. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET. Below, we give you four NBA player/team prop bets to consider from the BetMGM game menu.

Nets PF Kevin Durant OVER 10.5 (-120) assists+rebounds
Between Nets PG Kyrie Irving and KD, I’ll peg Durant as the most likely to relinquish some of the offensive responsibility early in Brooklyn’s season. Plus, there’s a lot more to Durant than his scoring prowess. The scoring comes first and is KD’s best skill but he has also averaged 7.1 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game for his career.
Durant is also one of the best basketball minds in the NBA and I bet (literally) he understands the depth this Nets roster has and would like to get SF Joe Harris and SG Caris LeVert going early. KD’s offense is a given so expect him to show his versatility and defer a little in Game 1 of the season.

Durant OVER 2.5 turnovers (+110)
This kind of correlates with the prop above but I could see KD overdoing it when it comes to distribution and maybe make some unforced errors as he settles into his first game since the 2018-19 NBA playoffs.
Also, forcing turnovers is one of the few areas of defense in which Golden State is typically elite. The Warriors were fifth last season in turnover percentage and KD averages 3.1 turnovers per game for his career.
Think of Durant’s turnovers as you have to break eggs to make an omelette. If you’re going to have that much usage because you’re nasty at offense like KD, then naturally there’ll be some turnovers.
Nets SF Joe Harris OVER 2.5 threes made (+140)
I love the idea of getting the 2019 3-Point Contest champion and best career 3-point shooter (by percentage) on the Nets at plus-money. Last year’s Warriors were 24th in opponent’s 3-point rate and I don’t see them getting much better year over year at closing out on threes. Especially with PF Draymond Green out of the lineup for the season opener.
Given all the firepower the Nets have, Harris figures to get more open looks and we know how much Brooklyn’s new de facto offensive coordinator Mike D’Antoni feels about his teams taking threes. Look for Harris to shake loose for some open transition threes or just go bombs away in a Warriors-Nets shootout.
Race to 15 Points, Warriors (+130)
My vision for how Warriors-Nets plays out is that Golden State comes out and punches Brooklyn in the mouth early but the Nets should recover by the end of the first half. We should be in for a seesaw game but the Warriors have an edge in coaching and Steve Kerr will have his guys more buttoned up to start the game.
