Kyle Lowry agitated the Denver Nuggets and viewers throughout the opening half of Monday’s NBA Finals matchup.
Facing elimination in Game 5, the Miami Heat entered halftime up 51-44. Lowry stuffed the stat sheet, tallying six points, three points, three rebounds, a steal, and a block.
In the eyes of many observers, the veteran point guard also stockpiled flops. Viewers grew tired of Lowry of foul-baiting throughout the first half.
“Lowry is the Daniel Day-Lewis of flopping,” Bill Simmons declared. “Nobody’s better. And he keeps coming up with new wrinkles like when he tried to sell a concussion for Jokic’s third foul and it almost worked.”
“Kyle Lowry’s grift game is on point tonight,” Tom Fornelli of CBS Sports said.
“Lowry flopping like a fish all over my screen,” a fan claimed.
“Kyle Lowry should be banned from the NBA for flopping,” another fan stated.
Fans seem to gripe about flopping during essentially every game. It could drive the NBA to address the issue, potentially by implementing a technical foul or another penalty.
Lowry’s craftiness has led him to a long and fruitful NBA career. The 37-year-old will need to guide the Heat to the first of three straight wins Monday night to earn his second championship ring.
