NBA best bets today (Predictions for Clippers-Blazers, Austin Reaves and two-team parlay)
Austin Reaves #AustinReaves
This weekend has been an unbelievable one for yours truly, sweeping back-to-back NBA slates with my seven picks on Friday and Saturday night.
Now, I’m looking to keep the momentum going into a fun Sunday slate, with two player props, a spread pick and a moneyline parlay.
This season, I’ve pushed my record to over 20 units, so why not come along for the ride during a hot streak? Here are today’s picks:
NBA best bets record to dateNBA best bets today
Royce O’Neale OVER 1.5 3-Pointers Made (+115)
I bet this prop for Royce O’Neale last Sunday against the Denver Nuggets and it cashed, and I love it even more with the Brooklyn Nets at home this afternoon.
Denver is on the second day of a back-to-back, and it ranks just 23rd in the NBA in defensive rating on the road this season.
Meanwhile, O’Neale has been hot, hitting multiple 3-pointers in five straight games (12-for-26 over that stretch).
He’s also averaging 2.2 made 3s per game while shooting 39.5 percent from 3 this season. At +115, this is value on O’Neale’s 3-point prop.
Milwaukee Bucks-New Orleans Pelicans Moneyline parlay (-110)
There’s nothing like the moneyline parlay, which has been a frequent flyer in the NBA best bets column this month.
Tonight, I love the Milwaukee Bucks and New Orleans Pelicans to win, starting with the Pels on the road against the Houston Rockets.
New Orleans lost to Houston its last game on a last-second 3 by Jabari Smith Jr., but the team was up by 10 points heading into the fourth quarter.
I think the Pels bounce back here, especially since Houston is on a three-game winning streak but still ranks in the bottom 3 in offensive, defensive and net rating this season.
As for the Bucks side of this parlay, Milwaukee is an insane 28-7 at home and is coming off a rare loss at the hands of the Indiana Pacers.
This is a prime bounce back spot for the Bucks, who have gone 20-14-1 ATS as home favorites. I don’t trust this Toronto team, which is still just 5-5 in its last 10 despite winning three straight, to upset Milwaukee on the road.
Austin Reaves OVER 12.5 Points (-130)
It’s Austin Reaves appreciation night!
Reaves hit a points and assists prop for us on Friday night, and now I’m taking his OVER on points after oddsmakers refuse to adjust his line.
Reaves has scored 13 or more points in seven straight games and nine of his last 10, yet Vegas still thinks he’s worthy of just a 12.5-point prop.
The second-year guard is playing a ton of minutes, including crunch time minutes, in a bench role for L.A. this season. The Magic, who are in the second game of a back-to-back, are just 19th in the NBA in defensive rating this season.
This is a dream spot for Reaves to stay hot.
Los Angeles Clippers -3.5 (-110) vs. Portland Trail Blazers
The Los Angeles Clippers lost to the Orlando Magic on Saturday night, but that came with Kawhi Leonard sitting out for injury management.
Leonard should return for Sunday’s game against the Portland Trail Blazers, who have dropped five straight and are falling out of the play-in race in the West.
Los Angeles has been solid as a road favorite this season (10-9 ATS), and it should handle a Portland team that is just 4-7 ATS as a home dog, the fourth worst mark in the NBA.
Portland also is dead last in the NBA in net rating over its last 10 games, so I think it’s a little overvalued in this game.
