Nationals’ Patrick Corbin: Hurls five innings in no-decision

Corbin #Corbin

Corbin didn’t factor into the decision in the second game of Thursday’s doubleheader against the Phillies, allowing four runs on eight hits and a walk across five innings. He struck out two.

Corbin had issues with the long ball and gave up homers to Rhys Hoskins, Andrew McCutchen and Alec Bohm, but the struggles of Phillies starter Cristopher Sanchez allowed Corbin to avoid what would’ve been his 10th loss of the season. The veteran lefty has been pitching poorly of late, and he has allowed at least four earned runs in four of his last five outings while posting a 7.18 ERA across 26.1 innings during that stretch.
