Sky news host Andrew Bolt says the Nationals have given PM Scott Morrison a “warning in words he can’t ignore” by voting “global warming sceptic” Barnaby Joyce as head of the party.
Mr Bolt said one factor in the calculation of who would win the Nationals leadership spill was that McCormack “failed to push back hard enough when the Prime Minister kept edging the Coalition closer to a zero emissions target by 2050.”
“To be fair, Michael McCormack did not himself promote the global warming scare,” he said.
“But he is now paying the price in part for the Prime Minister who has been pushing his side on global warming.
“Well, today the Nationals – Morrison’s partners in government – have now given Morrison a warning in words he can’t ignore – on global warming, prime minister, not one inch more.”
