Amaravati: Former minister Perni Venkataramaiah (Nani) on Thursday slammed Telangana minister T Harish Rao for making comments against AP. He asked why Telangana had been creating hurdles to Rayalaseema lift irrigation scheme if they were concerned about AP’s welfare. He alleged that Telangana had been going ahead with the construction of Dindi-Palamuru lift irrigation schemes despite knowing that it would have a catastrophic impact on AP.Nani said that Harish was making comments against AP to hog limelight in Telangana. “Harish Rao is making unnecessary comments against AP only to provoke AP leaders to speak against Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. It is better for Harish to directly attack his uncle to test his popularity,” said Nani.He said that Hyderabad does not belong to either Harish Rao or BRS leader Banda Prakash to claim the city as their own property. He said that Hyderabad was developed jointly by people from AP and Telangana. He suggested Harish to inspect some of the roads in Khammam or Bhadrachalam to find out their ability. He said Harish was worried about his political prospects as BRS could someday go into the hands of KTR or Kavitha. He said Harish was trying to ignite tempers as the new version of TRS-BRS was unable to get the required mileage as in the past. He suggested Harish to mind his business and concentrate on the issues pertaining to Telangana.Nani also criticised TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu for ignoring Machilipatnam during his regime and making baseless allegations against the state government after chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy’s announcement about Machilipatnam port which will come into operation in the next two years with a capacity of four berths.
