Did Clemson Tigers head coach Dabo Swinney get punched in the face?
If so, who punched him? And why?
These were just some of the questions that came up when Swinney turned up Clemson’s men’s basketball game against North Carolina sporting a massive black eye.
Now, maybe Dabo just walked into a door or something. But I’ve seen a lot of dudes get punched in the face and a lot of black eyes.
If two and two still equals four, it sure looks like someone hauled off and swung ol’ buddy.
Maybe one of his players just got sick of the alleged mistreatment that led to former Clemson player Jaden Kinard hitting the transfer portal.
““It became obviously personal, and it was obviously overkill,” Kinard’s father Terry, a Clemson alum, said of the incident. “Other teammates that witnessed this tried to encourage Jaden by telling him to keep his head up.”
Dabo didn’t exactly see things the same way.
“We just had an accountability run, coach Batson schedules these runs all throughout the year,” Swinney said of the incident that led to Kinard leaving.. “Most of the teams didn’t have to run but one team did have to run several over and backs. There were about five or six guys who got their butts chewed out, and they earned it.”
“Football at this level is not for everybody,” he continued. “The discipline, accountability, and toughness, it’s hard at this level.”
Did Kinard show up and take a swing at Swinney? Did another one of his players decide that enough was enough?
Maybe Tyler from Spartanburg decided to show up and give Dabo a piece of his mine.
But one thing is certain. Somebody appears to have put a fist in Dabo Swinney’s eye.
And plenty of people were wishing they could have done so instead.
