The Giants beat the Padres 7-3 at Scottsdale Stadium.

Batter’s box: Wil Myers hit his team-leading fourth homer and beat out a dribbler to the left side for a single to extend his hitting streak to eight games. He is batting .400 (14-for-35) this spring. … Jorge Mateo doubled and walked. He has hit in his past six games and has a .448 on-base percentage in a team-high 58 plate appearances. … Tommy Pham walked once and has a .388 OBP this spring, remarkable in that it was .190 after his first 21 plate appearances.

Balls and strikes: Dinelson Lamet got through his first inning of the spring in 12 pitches. He allowed a two-out homer to Donovan Solano. … Adrian Morejón, who entered the game with the apparent inside track on the fifth starter job, took over for Lamet in the second inning. He took just 11 pitches to get through the second inning, including back-to-back three-pitch strikeouts to end it. He threw 69 pitches over 3 1/3 innings and allowed two runs on two hits, including a home run by Mike Yastrzemski and one after he had departed. … Keone Kela, who had not allowed a run five spring innings, allowed three in the sixth inning.

Extra bases: Mateo started at shortstop, the fifth position at which he has started this spring. Mateo primarily played shortstop in the minor leagues but has spent most of the spring in the outfield and also played at second base. … Ha-seong Kim started in left field for the first time this spring. He has also started at second base, shortstop and third.

On Deck: Yu Darvish will make his third start of the spring, 6:40 p.m. against the Rangers in Peoria, Ariz. Darvish, who threw four-plus innings in a simulated game his last turn in the rotation, has allowed one hit and struck out seven in five scoreless innings.
