My Pillow CEO Mike Lindell insists Trump will remain president despite election loss, insurrection

My Pillow CEO Mike Pillow will not lay to rest falsehoods about the 2020 election.

As of early Friday, the businessman and activist was still insisting President Trump will serve a second term in office.

“Keep the faith everyone,” Mr. Lindell posted on his Facebook page. “We will have our president Donald Trump 4 more years!”

Facebook placed a label on Mr. Lindell‘s post after this article was published. The results of Mr. Trump‘s failed race for re-election has been certified in all 50 states, Facebook noted.

Mr. Lindell, the founder and face of the My Pillow company, has made a number of similar false claims ahead of President-elect Joseph R. Biden being sworn in to succeed Mr. Trump next Wednesday.

In some instances, internet titans including Twitter and YouTube stepped in to flag or remove social media posts and video footage of Mr. Lindell denying that Mr. Trump lost his race for reelection.

Elsewhere, such as Mr. Lindell‘s account on Facebook, where some untruths about the election remain online, disappointed followers have commented demanding answers as Mr. Trump‘s days in office dwindle.

My Pillow is heavily advertised on conservative media outlets, and Mr. Lindell, 59, was vocal about supporting the outgoing Republican president well before he ultimately lost November’s election.

Indeed, Mr. Lindell sponsored a multi-state “March for Trump” bus tour in December, and he was among thousands of president’s supporters who participated in protests last week in Washington, D.C.

More recently, several White House reporters spotted Mr. Lindell outside the Oval Office on Friday afternoon, several hours after his Facebook post claiming the president will remain in power.

The White House did not immediately respond to a message about the sighting.

Mr. Lindell was previously in Washington on Jan. 6 when fellow Trump supporters attacked the U.S. Capitol during a violent insurrection that resulted in Mr. Trump‘s impeachment the following week.

Congress reconvened several hours after the Capitol was seized to formalize Mr. Biden’s win, and Mr. Trump said after that a new administration will enter the White House on Inauguration Day, Jan. 20.

Nonetheless, Mr. Lindell has continued to promote false statements and conspiracy theories about the presidential election even after both the insurrection and Mr. Trump‘s effective concession that followed.

“The election fraud is real and Donald Trump will be our president for 4 more years!” Mr. Lindell posted to Facebook on Jan. 8.

Mr. Lindell later shared a video interview on several internet platforms in which he falsely claimed Mr. Trump beat Mr. Biden and that anti-fascist activists known as Antifa planned the insurrection.

YouTube has removed that video for violating its community guidelines. The company did not immediately respond to a message seeking further details.

Twitter flagged several posts made on its platform by Mr. Lindell‘s account in recent weeks for containing disputed claims about the presidential election. He has not posted on it since Jan. 11.

Several of Mr. Lindell‘s posts remain on Facebook, however, where in many cases followers have replied to inquiry how and when the results of the presidential election will purportedly be reversed.

“WHERE IS THE EVIDENCE OF YOUR PROMISE THAT TRUMP WILL BE OUR NEXT PRESIDENT???” one Facebook user wrote on Mr. Lindell‘s page in all capital letters Thursday. Others have asked similar questions.

Facebook did not immediately respond to questions about Mr. Lindell‘s account.
