Heroes #Heroes

My Hero Academia’s world relies heavily on costumed pro heroes who defend and uphold justice and the law at any cost. Many qualities are expected from these caped crime fighters, far more than just powerful Quirks or physical strength. Heroes must also be charismatic, inspiring, and of course, reliable and disciplined at all times.

Unreliable heroes might arrive too late or get sidetracked, which allows villains to get away with almost anything. The most reliable heroes, meanwhile, consistently show up on time and get the job done right the first time, and they have a good reputation for it. Reliable heroes can also undertake risky or strange missions and always pull through, no matter what.
Updated March 27th, 2023 by Louis Kemner: The final war between pro heroes and supervillains is still heating up, and now more than ever, Japanese society needs reliable, noble pro heroes. The most reliable and trustworthy heroes are those who always follow through with their word and won’t back down or quit when things get tough, even when the personal cost is high. The fifteen most reliable pro heroes must step up and show everyone why they are worthy of the cape.
Selkie Quirk: Spotted Seal
Selkie was a filler-only pro hero in the My Hero Academia anime, though he eventually made it into the manga as a fairly reliable and powerful pro. In the anime’s earlier episodes, Selkie set a good example as a hardworking and disciplined pro hero who wasn’t afraid of tedious chores to keep his agency running. The same was true for his entire crew, including Sirus the sidekick.
Selkie fell into a villain’s trap when the action started, but before long, he broke out and got back into the fight. He immediately raced after Tsuyu Asui, his intern, who was busy fighting Innsmouth in a bay. Selkie arrived just in time to save Tsuyu’s life and win the fight.
Cementoss Quirk: Cement
The blocky pro hero Cementoss did a fine job challenging Eijiro Kirishima and Rikido Sato in the students vs heroes battles, being reliable enough to push those students to the limit without actually hurting them. Cementoss also stepped in when Izuku and Shoto got dangerously carried away in the UA sports festival tournament.
True to his concrete theme, Cementoss is a tough, stubborn, and reliable pro hero who may not be too creative or witty, but he is a firm and stable fighter in any battle. He also bravely joined the hero army to take on the Paranormal Liberation Front and survived that brutal battle intact.
Thirteen Quirk: Black Hole
The astronaut-themed hero Thirteen appeared early in My Hero Academia, and she helped defend class 1-A when the League of Villains stormed the USJ complex back in Season 1. Thirteen used her powerful Black Hole Quirk and bravely used it to fend off the entire League single-handedly, though she eventually fell.
Thirteen is a moderately powerful pro hero with a kind personality and a cool outer space theme, and she appeared again to fight the Paranormal Liberation Front in Season 6. With any luck, Thirteen’s Black Hole Quirk will be put to good use once again and support the dwindling hero army as the war drags on.
Ryukyu Quirk: Dragon
The kuudere hero Ryukyu ranks in the top 10, and she’s humble enough to never boast about it. Ryukyu focuses entirely on doing a job well done for the sake of others, making her one of the noblest and most idealistic heroes. That, in turn, also makes her highly reliable and trustworthy.

Ryukyu is also an excellent hero mentor for Ochaco, Tsuyu, and Nejire, who formed an unofficial squad under her command for a time. Ryukyu also took part in the raid on Shie Hassasikai’s hideout and did a fine job restraining Overhaul’s thugs with her dragon form’s paws.
Kamui Woods Quirk: Arbor
Kamui Woods was one of the first pro heroes to ever appear in My Hero Academia, fighting crime in the streets alongside his allies Mt. Lady and Edgeshot, fellow members of the Lurkers team. Kamui Woods only appears a few times, but it’s still clear he’s a reliable and professional superhero.
Kamui Woods keeps his cool during conflict and fights smart as a key member of the Lurkers team, contrasting with Mt. Lady’s aggressive, destructive fighting style. Despite his aloof and disciplined persona, Kamui Woods is also an emotional fellow and gets upset when other people get all the credit.
Edgeshot Quirk: Foldabody
Edgeshot is the most ninja-like pro hero, complete with a stylish hero costume and fighting style to match. He is the stealthiest member of the Lurkers team and truly lives up to that team’s name, being able to slip into any area or building with his compressed body.
Edgeshot, like Kamui Woods, is serious, disciplined, and highly reliable. He is also a master of his bizarre Quirk, using it to fold his body into a thin line to sneak around or stab his enemies like a living spear. All these traits allowed Edgeshot to climb the ranks and make it into Japan’s top 10.
Ingenium Quirk: Engine
Tenya Iida’s older brother Tensei was once a fast-running pro hero called Ingenium, and he appears much more often in the MHA: Vigilantes spinoff manga series. Ingenium was quite reliable and dependable as a friendly and duty-bound hero, but eventually, Stain mortally wounded him.
Now, Tensei is sidelined as a former pro hero, but he took it in stride and continued to provide Tenya with emotional support however he could. It’s no wonder Tenya looks up to his brother to the point of borrowing his hero name and costume design for himself.
The Wild, Wild Pussycats Quirks: Pliabody, Search, Earth Flow, Telepath
The four Wild, Wild Pussycats can be lumped together as a single pro hero since they always operate as a team to perform search and rescue missions in mountainous areas. These four heroes have the perfect Quirks to find missing people and coordinate the evacuation of dangerous areas.

The Pussycats are also dependable fighters, not just rescuers, most of all with the brawny hero Tiger. All four Pussycats gave it their all when the League of Villains’ vanguard team arrived to attack the forest training camp, though they couldn’t stop Kurogiri from kidnapping Katsuki Bakugo.
Sir Nighteye Quirk: Foresight
The suit-wearing pro hero Sir Nighteye was once All Might’s sidekick, and he was an incredibly reliable, consistent sidekick who could always point All Might in the right direction for a mission. Then they had a falling out, and Sir Nighteye set up his own hero agency.
Sir Nighteye uses his office skills, his future vision Quirk, and his disciplined mind to run a tight ship and keep track of lots of information and ideas at once. He’s cautious, has a keen eye for details, and will always think things over carefully before making a move.
Best Jeanist Quirk: Fiber Master
Best Jeanist is a disciplined, reliable pro hero who may enjoy all the attention, but he fights for duty’s sake, not vanity’s sake. Best Jeanist is tough and persistent in battle, and he even took a mortal blow from All For One to protect his fellow heroes.
Best Jeanist has suffered greatly in the battle against villainy, but he won’t dare back down or make excuses. He returned to the fight sooner than expected, making an aerial drop with some new cables and wires to take the fight to Tomura Shigaraki because it was the right thing to do.
Eraserhead Quirk: Erasure
Izuku’s tsundere homeroom teacher, Shota Aizawa, also goes by the hero name Eraserhead. Even if Eraserhead isn’t outwardly charismatic or inspiring, he actually does care for his students and will help all 20 of them succeed, no matter what.

Eraserhead is stern, disciplined, and fully committed as a teacher, which makes him highly reliable even if his students don’t always like him. As a combat-ready pro hero, Eraserhead is equally reliable, using his street smarts and detective skills to carefully track down and capture villains.
Hawks Quirk: Fierce Wings
The new #2 pro hero is the cheerful young Hawks, who looks up to All Might as a role model. Hawks had a rough past, as recent flashbacks showed, but he is now a highly dependable, reliable, and committed hero who will do anything that’s asked of him, no matter the risk.
Hawks was trusted to infiltrate the Meta Liberation Army to spy on the villains and send covert messages from there, which he did. Only the most skilled, reliable, and trustworthy heroes would be asked to undertake such an important and perilous mission and be expected to succeed.
Endeavor Quirk: Hellflame
By now, everyone recognizes Endeavor as a flawed hero who was an abusive tyrant to his family, as Dabi/Toya hoped. Still, Endeavor is trying his best to atone and balance things out with his renewed commitment to fighting evil and projecting justice in society.

Endeavor may be harsh, but he is also a highly capable agency boss who can juggle a lot of tasks and missions at once. He is also tough and committed to his duty, boldly rushing across the city to fight villains anywhere they might appear without any delay or hesitation.
All Might Quirk: One For All
All Might stood as the symbol of peace for many years, and he was the epitome of what a caped pro hero should be. He wasn’t just invincible in combat; he was also highly charismatic and inspiring, he was friendly and compassionate, and he was 100% reliable as a hero who never failed to save the day.
It seemed All Might could be everywhere at once and do everything, but that era is over. His injury from All For One means he can’t keep up his muscle form, and then he lost everything fighting All For One one last time. Now he is retired, though Izuku can still count on All Might to provide emotional support and guidance, at least.
Principal Nezu Quirk: High Spec
Principal Nezu takes his duty as UA’s leader very seriously, and he will say or do whatever he must to keep that school safe and preserve its image as Japan’s #1 hero school. Nezu doesn’t have to actually fight to prove his worth as a pro hero; he just has to lead.
Nezu is a polite and highly intelligent animal who can set everyone’s mind at ease with a few well-chosen words, and he is also a skilled administrator. UA’s other teachers can handle the school’s defense in person. It’s Nezu who keeps it all together with his unfailing leadership.
