Mustafa Ali has confirmed hisWWE exit with a blunt statement on social media.

The 37-year-old high flyer – who has been appearing on the NXT brand in recent months but had announced he would be appearing on next week’s episode of Monday Night Raw – has left fans stunned after his latest post on X/Twitter.

He simply wrote: ‘I am no longer working with WWE. I look forward to the future. Thank you, -Adeel’

The statement initially confused people as the ‘no’ was missing, but Ali has since taken to X again to confirm he is done with the company seven years after making his WWE debut in the 2016 Cruiserweight Classic.

At the moment, it remains unclear if his contract expired or if he’s been granted his release, with the latter typically coming with a noncompete clause of up to 90 days.

The timing of his departure is surprising, given he had been set to face Dominik Mysterio for the NXT North American Championship at NXT No Mercy on September 30.

He was also due to appear on Monday Night Raw this week (September 25) to promote the ongoing storyline with Dragon Lee set to face Dominik for the gold on the broadcast.

On Tuesday night, Ali tweeted: ‘Imagine beating someone to become the number one contender and having the loser get a championship before you. HOW DOES ANY OF THIS MAKE SENSE @WWE I’m showing up at #WWERaw and I better get an answer. (sic)’

However, it appears he now won’t be part of the show, and the No Mercy card will surely be updated with a new opponent for Dominik.

His exit comes 19 months after he shocked the world by publicly requesting his release from WWE, although he would return a few months later as part of the Raw brand.

Ali said at the time: ‘I have a message that is much bigger than my dreams in pro wrestling. Despite my best efforts, I will not be able to deliver this message while working with WWE. Therefore, I am requesting my release from WWE.’
