Multiple injured in Birmingham house fire

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – Two people were transported to a local hospital Saturday night after being rescued from a house fire in the Inglenook community, officials say.

According to the Fire Battalion Chief on scene, authorities received a call about a residential fire and were notified that there were children inside the home. The children inside of the home were able to get out by themselves, but authorities say a disabled adult and an adult with special needs both needed assistance in getting out of the residence. The two individuals were transported to a local hospital for further evaluation and only minor injuries.

At this time, the cause of the fire is under investigation.
