This is the second reported mountain lion attack in as many weeks in the area. Last Wednesday, a mountain lion attacked a family’s dog at their Peninsula home in Woodside. The homeowners said a mountain lion climbed over a six-foot fence onto their property and began attacking the dog.

After that incident, the sheriff’s office said it was working with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife to monitor the situation but believed it was an isolated incident. Officials didn’t comment on whether that mountain lion had been found.
