Moment Disabled Dog’s Special Skates Help Her Walk With the Rest of the Pack Is So Emotional
For All The Dogs #ForAllTheDogs
Caring for a special needs pet may sound daunting (and it can be sometimes!) but it’s also incredibly rewarding and fun. You’ll have the chance to bond even more than you would with an able-bodied animal, and you’ll get to discover new ways to explore the world together. Not to mention the unconditional love!
There are so many owners special needs pets who document their journey on social media, but one quadriplegic pup named Lilly has stolen my heart. She’s a sweet and curious dog who got around fairly easily on her walker–with some help, that is– but her loving mom knew that wasn’t good enough for this canine queen. That’s why she got her very own set of custom-built skates to use with the walker they call @thelilymobile!
This is a major step up from the stroller she was used to, and I can only imagine how happy Lily’s mom is to watch her ‘stand’ on all four paws. It must feel so great for Lily, too!

You go, girl! It’s so inspiring watching this paralyzed pup scooting around like every other dog, and we bet it makes meeting new dogs easier than ever. If it helps Lilly have a more comfortable and enriching life, it sounds like a win to us!
Of course, Lilly’s incredible life is all thanks to her dedicated parents and the love they give her every day. From connecting with Maximus Skates to simply showing her affection, their ever present devotion is what keeps her going.
Commenter @am6x3 noticed this too, writing, “the trust and love Lilly has for both of her parents is magical to watch.” It really is! She knows they will always be there for her, and their bond is beautiful to witness.
It might be challenging buying a wheelchair for a dog, or helping a cat with cerebellar hypoplasia find a best friend, but watching your pet live their very best lives is oh-so-worth it!
