Chelsea have seen multiple offers for the Ecuador international, including a bid of £80 million, rejected by Brighton this summer.
However, Liverpool entered the race to sign Caicedo this week and have held extensive talks with Brighton, who are demanding a £100m fee for the midfielder.
According to The Times, Caicedo is currently in London as his preference is to join Chelsea as quickly as possible.
However, the report claims that Jurgen Klopp is keen to speak with Caicedo in order to help Liverpool persuade the 21-year-old to make the move to Anfield instead.

Meanwhile, The Telegraph reports that Liverpool ‘face an uphill battle’ to convince Caicedo to reject a switch to Chelsea as it has been ‘clear for weeks’ that the midfielder wants to move to Stamford Bridge.
The report also claims that Chelsea are preparing to submit an improved off for £90m plus an additional £10m in bonuses, which meets Brighton’s £100m asking price.
