A new-look University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men’s basketball team picked up a win Saturday night, knocking down 10 3-pointers on its way to an 88-72 win over Alabama A&M.
Florida transfer Trey Bonham — who started his college career at Virginia Military Institute with current UTC head coach Dan Earl — played 18 minutes in his first game after a court ruling allowed multi-time transfers to be immediately eligible earlier this week.
Bonham, who was an All-Southern Conference Freshman selection in 2019-20 and has averaged 9.3 points in his career, had 14 points and three assists in his first action coming off the bench.
“It’s crazy. Just two days ago, I thought I wasn’t playing until August of next year,” Bonham said on the postgame radio broadcast.
