MLB fans think the A’s proposed Las Vegas ballpark looks just like the Sydney Opera House

It’s going to be some time before we see the Oakland A’s relocate to Las Vegas, but fans finally got a glimpse at what their new stadium could look like. And to the surprise of no one, fans were not impressed!
On Tuesday, the A’s unveiled the first renderings of their $1.5 billion — yes, BILLION — stadium design for their upcoming move to Las Vegas. The stadium is set to be finished in 2028, when the A’s will complete their tumultuous run in Oakland and move on to desert-like pastures.
And thanks to these new renderings, we now have an idea of what baseball will look like in Las Vegas. Spoiler alert: It’s weird!
At first glance, there are a myriad of problems with this design. Why is the batter’s eye so small? Why is the scoreboard placed like that? But most importantly, why does it look like the Sydney Opera House? Seriously, the domed rising silhouette of the Sydney Opera House is one of the most recognizable buildings in the world and this stadium looks nearly identical to it from the side.
MLB fans were quick to point out the similarities between the A’s proposed new Las Vegas stadium and Australia’s most iconic landmark.
